MACOR® is a machinable ceramic produced by Corning. HFT has gained considerable experience with the machining of this material on its 5-axis CNC machines and can therefore produce the parts you need quickly and cost-effectively.
This material offers a unique combination of properties unlike any other technical material: it is white, odourless with no offgassing and zero porosity, and allows mirror-like surface finishes with centesimal dimensional tolerances. It remains constant up to 800 °C, but can even reach 1000 °C under load for a relatively short time without creep phenomena or plastic deformation. It has low coefficients of thermal expansion even at high temperatures and is an excellent electrical insulator.
